Nexla Named a Representative Vendor in the 2022 Gartner Market Guide for Event Stream Processing

Nexla, the leading Unified Data Operations platform, has been recognized as a Representative Vendor in the latest Gartner “Market Guide for Event Stream Processing”. If you are a Gartner subscriber, you can read the full report here.

What is Event Stream Processing?

According to Gartner, “The event stream processing (ESP) platform market consists of software systems that perform real-time or near-real-time computations on streaming event data. They execute calculations on unbounded input data continuously as it arrives, enabling immediate responses to current situations and/or storing results in files or databases for later use. Examples of input data include clickstreams, customer orders, payments, insurance claims, social media postings, images, video, emails and other documents, and market data feeds, as well as sensor data from physical assets, such as mobile devices, machines and vehicles.”

Gartner recommended that data and analytics leaders should do the following:

  • “Build a custom streaming application by using an ESP platform, if no off-the-shelf application or SaaS offering that addresses your stream processing business requirements is available.”
  • “Specify the business requirements for latency, processing logic and the volume and type of input data by working with business partners.”
  • “Use a stream data integration product when the dominant usage scenario is for real-time streaming ETL.”

The two usage scenarios for the ESP market were identified in the report as (1) Stream Analytics and (2) Stream Data Integration. Nexla was listed as a Stream Data Integration representative vendor.
