What is OLAP?

Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) is software used to perform multi-dimensional analysis at high speed on large volumes of data. The data source can be a data warehouse, data store, data mart, or any other database and with OLAP the multi-dimensional data can be broken down into insightful format.
